Hyper Knuckles is a powered-up form of Knuckles the Echidna, a prominent character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series by Sega.
This transformation first appeared in the Sega Genesis game Sonic & Knuckles. By equipping the game cartridge with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Knuckles could utilize the Super Emeralds to achieve his Hyper form.
In his Hyper state, Knuckles turns a shade of pink and gains the ability to use "Hyper Shockwave", in which Knuckles will briefly flash several colors, then will proceed to do a burst of after-images along the screen that will damage any enemies that are within range.
